On May 24, 2022, the Albanian Parliament approved the Administration Agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the Butrint Management Foundation for the indirect administration of the Butrint cultural property.
The new management model aims to improve the conservation condition, protection, and further safeguarding of the Butrint archeological site, enhance services to further enhance the visitor experience, fund archaeological research, and greater employment for the local community.
